School programming is essential to our value of Access. Meaningful collaboration with our school partners allows us to reach students who may not have access to the game after school. School programs can look a variety of ways, but the main priority is to ensure all students are experiencing intentional programming that grows the love of the game, develops social and emotional capacities, and builds trusting relationships and community.
School and Community Programming
Soccer in the Streets offers high-quality, FREE youth soccer across metro Atlanta because we believe in the power of this game to connect kids, families, schools, and communities. We currently serve over 10 schools across Atlanta Public Schools, DeKalb County, and Fulton County school districts. Our programs run during school hours and after school in 45-60 minute sessions. Each session includes an opening circle, soccer skill development aligned with SEL themes, and a closing circle.
Our school programming focuses on delivering 12-18 sessions with a curriculum grounded in social and emotional learning principles, emphasizing self-management and relationship skills.
Through soccer, we facilitate meaningful connections between students and their peers as well as between students and coaches. Above all, we foster a safe, inclusive environment where students and their families can experience the joy and benefits of soccer.
"The impact of this collaboration is far-reaching, contributing positively to our community as a recreational hub and a platform for cultivating essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and community building."
— Dr. Sean Deas, Principal of Dunaire Elementary School
